Bicycle Patrols Deployed!

BikePatrolPct5In an effort to enhance security initiatives in the district, bicycle patrols have been deployed. Regular patrols will be conducted in area apartment complexes and shopping centers throughout the district. Sgt. Laura Morgan, who heads up the International District’s Pct. 5 Zero Tolerance Unit reports that citizens were surprised and pleased to find deputies patrolling district shopping areas during the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The unit has already made multiple arrests while conducting bike patrols and more are expected as bikes give police fast access to areas patrol cars cannot enter. A criminal trying to escape on foot just can’t outrun a bicycle!
